From the Steel Town to the Hill Country
I spent years in Pennsylvania as a high-performing engineer, obsessed with the "how." I knew every technical nuance and every shortcut to a solution. But my true hammer moment didn't happen at a desk — it happened when I stepped into leadership and traded the gray skies and steel-town grit of Pennsylvania for the relentless heat of Central Texas.
Moving my family to the Austin area wasn't just a career move. It was a leap of faith.
Faith, Family, and the Forge
As a husband and father, that relocation tested every bit of my resolve. We had to build a new life from the ground up while I was simultaneously building a high-stakes team in a brand-new environment.
In those moments of uncertainty, I didn't rely on my engineering background to solve the problem. I trusted God to carry us through, one decision at a time, and to provide the path forward when I couldn't see three steps ahead.
That's the honest version of how Anvil & Anchor started — not a strategy I planned, but a framework I lived my way into, one hard conversation and one answered prayer at a time.
What I Do Now
Today, I coach and train managers — mostly engineers and technical leaders — who were promoted for what they knew how to build, not for how to lead people. I share short, real-world stories from the trenches of leadership, parenting, and corporate life, built around the ANVIL framework: five pillars that turn pressure into strength instead of burnout.
My goal is simple: help you find the strength to forge your path, and the values to anchor your team — whether or not you share my faith, and unapologetically informed by it either way.
Forge the leader. Anchor the team.
